Rhitabrita Mukherjee

Rhitabrita Mukherjee is an economist and researcher focused on social infrastructure in LDCs, gender and ecological economics. She currently works as project lead with WEF Global Shapers, is a research consultant with SOCEO, Germany and a professor in Economics. She is a Monitoring & Evaluation expert with over 6 years of experience, working mainly in India and Africa with the World Bank, Child Fund and the GIZ. Her research is aimed at women from marginalised communities settled in degrading vulnerable ecosystems, to bring forward their knowledge and potential as leaders against climate change mitigation. She mainly works with native communities in the Sunderbans archipelago and fishing communities in the Pulicat lake area in India, evaluating, learning and empowering women in resilience against changing ecology.
