Skill Development Programme for women Convergence with Forest Department (Government of West Bengal)

Our Association of Remedy was collaborating with Forest department (Government of West Bengal) towards implementing a skill development project on Kitchen Garden training programme and Duck Farming training programme for the beneficiaries of Sundarbans regions. Sundarbans is the largest mangrove forest in the world and a UNESCO world heritage. But the area is populated by some of the world’s poorest people characterized by low levels of socio-economic indicators. In this context Kitchen Garden and Duck Farming Training Project were the revolutionary steps for livelihood generation. The main focus of the training programme was capacity building of rural women in the Kitchen Garden and Duck Farming and respectively 120 trainees from each trade were selected from 4 Blocks (Mathurapur, Patharpratima, Basanti, Kultali) of North 24 Parganas district.
